That heaven and earth are eternal is the norm in the holy confines. When facing what is before your eyes, that which you have seen before will be of use. In other words, ever since seeing Zen priests in ascetic training at the place where the spring could be heard, while reading over my poetry composed in that inspirational place during the boat ride home, I noticed a number of mistakes. I shall pass a new poetry collection to High Monk Kappa. Please collect this new volume from him. It is my deepest wish that the old volume be given to Kappa. If you look behind, you will see only the simply beautiful moon. I’ll write again soon.

원중거의 서찰

하늘은 길고 따은 머나 정계는 항상 눈에 보이는 듯하며,눈에 보이는 데다 또 샘 소리 가운데 문득 운납을 봅니다.
올 때 지었던 첩운 시는 배이서 초본을 열어보니 매우 잘못된 게 있습니다. 이에 고쳐 써서 갈파장로에게 부탁하여 보내오니, 새것은 받아두시고 구본은 갈파에게 보내기를 깊이 바랍니다.
고개를 돌리면 혜월만 보일 뿐입니다.

갑신 5월16일 소화 원중거 돈수

“부악은 동쪽 바다 끝,선루는 질펀한 물결을 거느렸네”(富嶽窮東海,襌樓領漫波)라고 한 것은 갈 때 지은 것인데,여기가는 부본과 함께 산문에 놓아두고,올 적에 지은 것은 곧 ‘반일 잠도 못잤다’고 운운한 것인데, 이것은 그대로 갈파에게 보내주시면 다행이겠습니다.
